Pink Wren

The birds in this design are inspired by the Pacific wren. The three birds have a geometric patterning and some unusual colors. Two of the birds feature colors loosely based on the natural colors of the Pacific wren, while the final bird has a pink hue. I originally imagined this piece to commemorate my daughter’s first favorite color - pink.

Stitched on 40 count Roxy Floss Co "French Hen" linen using all DMC.

Trillium Forest

Trilliums are a unique flower found in the area I live, the Pacific Northwest. I was inspired to create a forest floor scene with trilliums as the centerpiece. I added some beetles which are loosely based on beetles found in the PNW. This pattern was so much fun to stitch with its bright colors and variety of motifs.

Stitched on 40 count Fiber on a Whim "old gold" linen using all DMC.

Anemone (XStitch the Rainbow)

This pattern is a collaboration piece for XStitch the Rainbow - Beneath the Waves. After seeing the lovely color palette for this year, I immediately thought of a clown fish in an anemone. For the design of the anemone, I wanted to create a border sampler feel. I stitched my little clown fish on a purple linen (hydrangea by Fiber on a Whim), but you can take inspiration from the many other designs in this collaboration for your fabric choice!
